    ElaadNL, together with EVnetNL, originated from the e-laad foundation, which from 2009 to early 2014 realised a network of around 3,000 public charging points for electric cars throughout the Netherlands. ElaadNL is the knowledge and innovation centre in the field of charging infrastructure in the Netherlands and coordinates connections for public charging points to the electricity grid on behalf of the grid operators involved. The management of existing charging points does not fall under the tasks of ElaadNL; this is carried out by EVnetNL in coordination with the relevant municipalities.
