The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) is the specialized agency in agriculture of the Inter-American System that supports the efforts of its 34 Member States to achieve agricultural development and rural well-being.

Our roadmap is based on five hemispheric programs:

• Territorial Development and Family Farming
• International Trade and Regional Integration
• Climate Change, Natural Resources and Productive Risk Management
• Agricultural Health, Food Safety and Quality
Cross-cutting themes:
• Gender and youth
• Innovation and technology
We also act through:
• Projects financed with external resources from various partners, in which IICA assumes technical or administrative management.
• Rapid response actions in response to temporary situations, in which IICA mobilizes its technical capabilities to meet a specific demand from a member country.
• Pre-investment initiatives, aimed at obtaining and mobilizing complementary financial resources.

El Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura (IICA) es el organismo especializado en agricultura del Sistema Interamericano que apoya los esfuerzos de sus 34 Estados Miembros para lograr el desarrollo agrícola y el bienestar rural.
Desde 1942, el IICA brinda cooperación técnica internacional de excelencia, respondiendo oportunamente a los nuevos desafíos y oportunidades del sector agrícola, con el fin de lograr una agricultura cada vez más inclusiva, competitiva y sustentable.
La agricultura de las Américas tiene el potencial de convertirse en un verdadero motor de desarrollo, capaz de generar crecimiento económico y prosperidad para las poblaciones de esa región. Detonar el potencial del sector agrícola es crucial para resolver uno de los mayores retos de la humanidad: lograr la seguridad alimentaria.
Nuestra hoja de ruta se fundamenta en cinco programas hemisféricos:

Actuamos también mediante:
• Proyectos financiados con recursos externos provenientes de diversos socios, en los que el IICA asume la gestión técnica o administrativa.
• Acciones de respuesta rápida ante situaciones coyunturales, en las que el IICA moviliza sus capacidades técnicas para atender una demanda puntual de un país miembro.
• Iniciativas de preinversión, orientadas a obtener y movilizar recursos financieros complementarios.
La Dirección General es el órgano ejecutivo del IICA. Está constituida por las unidades técnicas y administrativas a través de las cuales se coordinan y ejecutan las actividades institucionales. El Director General es el Dr. Manuel Otero, de nacionalidad argentina, electo para el período 2018-2022.
