5 years, 6 months agoGlobal nonprofit that encourages and equips young adults to be ready for real life.
Founded in 2003 by Dr. Tim Elmore, Growing Leaders is a non-profit organization which serves public schools, state universities, and civic organizations, as well as faith-based organizations and churches. Our mission is to develop young leaders who will transform society. Our goal is to equip and mobilize one percent of the world’s population under the age of 25 (30 million students) to think and act like authentic, life-giving leaders. We will do this by helping them discover their purpose, equipping them for leadership development and showing them how to use their gifts to serve the world around them. We are about youth leadership development.
Specifically, we provide leadership training and resources targeted for the millennial generation which includes young people born from 1984 to 2002. The bull’s-eye of this target is students ages 12-24 who are middle school, high school and college age. These students make crucial decisions about their life at this time. In fact, the U.S. Department of Labor reports that the average American makes seven major decisions in their lifetime; and five of the seven are begun in college. This is why we specialize in student leadership training. If we’re serious about our future, we must be serious about investing in these future leaders.
