Today, a mere ~10% of plastic is recycled globally, partly due to the high costs and complexities of waste separation. The low value of plastic renders common recycling processes economically challenging, limiting viability to only a few types such as PET bottles. Radical Dot technology is contributing to a circular economy for plastics, developing a reliable, efficient and feedstock agnostic recycling technology. This breakthrough will also pave the way to defossilize and finally support alignment of the hard-to-abate chemical industry with the Paris Agreement. This process will have the potential to contribute to key chemical buidling blocks production and revolutionize a $400 billion fossil-based commodity chemicals market and reduce emissions by over 0.5 Gt CO2eq/year by 2050 (~1% of global emissions).
