Roma Education Fund Romania (REF Romania) is a non-governmental organization whose mission is to close the gap in educational outcomes between Roma and non-Roma students and to act as a catalyst to equal access to a quality education for all Roma children. REF Romania was established in 2009 within the REF Network. The organization has two key strategic directions: 1). Scaling up education interventions in Roma communities for enhancing access to and retention in quality education of Roma children at all levels of education (based on the expertise of the REF Network) and 2). Influencing educational public policies and strategies through technical assistance and advocacy. Currently, REF Romania manages two European Structural Fund (ESF) funded projects as main applicant – “School after School” and “Equal Opportunities in Education” – and 2 ESF projects as implementing partner – “Roma Youth Competitive on Labor Market” and “Roma Health Scholarship Project.” REF Romania is an NGO committed to excellence in achieving the results planned within its mandate and is an equal opportunity employer.
