L'ambition d'une véritable transition /
Established in 2022, The Transition Institute 1.5 - 1.5 echoing the maximum temperature elevation goal advocated by the IPCC - is an initiative launched by Mines Paris – PSL with the support of its Foundation. The Institute is led by Nadia Maïzi, Professor at Mines Paris – PSL, Director of the CMA, and co-author of the IPCC's 6th report.
To address the climate emergency and adhere to the IPCC's recommendation to limit global warming to 1.5°C compared to the pre-industrial era, our societies must commit to carbon neutrality and consider adaptation. However, nowhere on our planet is the expected transition observed.
The Transition Institute 1.5 aims to provide informed and multidisciplinary scientific responses to the major challenge of carbon neutrality, ensuring that solutions for some do not become problems for others.Original language
L’ambition d’une véritable transition
The Transition Institute 1.5 (TTI.5), 1.5 comme écho à l’objectif d’élévation maximal de température prôné par le GIEC, est une initiative lancée par Mines Paris – PSL avec le soutien de sa Fondation. Dédié au design de la transition, l'ambition de cet institut est d’apporter des réponses scientifiques éclairées au défi majeur du changement climatique, sur les enjeux liés à l’adaptation, à l’atténuation et à la biodiversité.
Créé en 2022, The Transition Institute 1.5 est dirigé par Nadia MAÏZI, Professeure à Mines Paris – PSL, Directrice du Centre de Mathématiques Appliquées et co-auteure du 6e rapport du GIEC.
The Transition Institute 1.5 finance et soutient des doctorants de différents centres de recherche de l'École. Il publie des documents d'éclairage et organise également des événements d'échanges et de dialogues autour de la transition.
