The core activity of the Montenegrin Transmission System Operator is the transmission of electrical energy. In accordance with EU regulations regarding the liberalization of the electricity market, the company was registered as an independent joint-stock company on March 27, 2009. The quality of performing the core activity is guaranteed by decades of experience in the development, operation, maintenance, and management of the transmission system, acquired through various organizational forms within the Montenegrin electro-energy sector since 1957 when the first transmission network facility in Montenegro was put into operation.

The mission of CGES is to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the power system in Montenegro, high-quality transmission and delivery of electrical energy, and system management in accordance with international standards. By leveraging its potentials with a focus on the development of the transmission system, our vision is to be recognized as a company providing services of the highest quality, ready to face challenges, and to be a driver of changes aimed at sustainable development and innovation.
