La SFNCM est une société savante, association loi 1901, qui réunit des professionnels de la nutrition clinique : diététiciens, médecins, pharmaciens, chercheurs, infirmiers.
Depuis sa création, la SFNCM poursuit un double objectif : le développement de la recherche clinique et fondamentale en nutrition artificielle, d'une part, et la diffusion, la promotion et l'enseignement des procédés de nutrition assistée d'autre part.
Dans ce cadre, les actions entreprises sont multiples :

- aider de jeunes chercheurs par l'attribution de prix annuel
