Reconnue d’utilité publique en 1945, la Fondation Anne-de-Gaulle a été créée à l’initiative d’Yvonne et Charles de Gaulle pour accueillir des jeunes femmes porteuse d'un handicap, afin qu’elles bénéficient des mêmes soins que leur propre fille Anne, trisomique 21 († 1928-1948).
Fruit d’une volonté familiale éclairée par les valeurs de ses fondateurs, la Fondation Anne de Gaulle est spécialisée dans l’accueil et l’accompagnement de personnes en situation de handicap. Elle porte l'ambition de co-construire avec les citoyens le premier village 100% inclusif du territoire Ile-de-France, porté par un cœur, de l'esprit et une âme (2024).
Ce village implanté à Montigny-le-Bretonneux (Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines) proposera un nouveau territoire des possibles, fondé sur l’autodétermination des personnes en situation de handicap et l’engagement citoyen. Une alliance entre habitat (maisons de parcours), accompagnement (équipe ressource 100% dédié au territoire), recherche participative (living lab') et innovation citoyenne (école de la citoyenneté inclusive).
