Giving children with special needs the best start in life

Unique across Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and Cheshire, no other charity does what we do in our region. We transform the lives of children with special educational needs and their families.

Through bespoke Education, Care and Development sessions at our specialist development centre in Newcastle, we support children to grow and develop, from building confidence to socialising, and from taking steps unaided to gaining communication skills. Each of our children has different needs and abilities and is encouraged at every stage by our caring and dedicated team of expert practitioners. Our sessions aim to give every child the best early support to enable them to continue their journey into education. Parent carers enjoy much-needed respite whilst their children are in our care.

Our Peter Pan Stay and Play groups in Newcastle, Burslem, Fenton, Sneyd Green and Biddulph are relaxed and friendly sessions for under-5’s, where we share ideas and activities parent carers can try at home, provide support and advice on a range of issues and offer a chance for parent carers to meet other families.

Local children with special educational needs and their families are facing unprecedented challenges right now and we have never been more needed. But did you know there is no statutory educational provision for children under five with special needs? Because of this we receive no government funding. This means that, without us, many of our children would be without any early years support. It is thanks to our local community, local businesses and grant and trust funders that we can raise the £380,000 we need annually to support over 100 children and families. If you'd like to get involved please get in touch, you truly can make a difference!
