Rainwear made with technical design in mind, Amsterdam-based BYBROWN, founded by British designer Melanie Brown, combines craftsmanship with contemporary, raw elegance. The garments have a strong constructed form, giving the clothes a minimalist attitude, where unexpected details add a playful element. Within the tailored lines there lays a soft tension, a dualism, which captures the essence of BYBROWN.

With a core-collection at the helm, fresh seasonal additions are made annually. Produced in limited quantities, each design series is made up from technical and recycled fabrics, produced with laser cutting and heat sealing technology.

The leading silhouette, the 2014 Raindress became the winner of the International A’design Award and was the first BYBROWN piece to substitute the predictable boxy shape of an all-weather gear with an engineered, tailored look.

Working with Blue Sign® approved materials BYBROWN exists alongside partners that care for the environment and its people. The brand is at the forefront of material innovation using recycled coffee grounds, milk bacteria, recycled polyester and recycled wool in each collection.

As one of the more sustainably driven labels of the moment BYBROWN has featured on Dezeen, YOOX, Vogue Italia, British Vogue and L’Officiel, press generated by Melanie’s look at production as key to creating a circular fashion industry.
