Black Mountains College is a brand-new college in the Brecon Beacons National Park, having launched in 2021 with our first cohort of students. We aim to create a future where nature and humans thrive. BMC focuses on the challenge of our times: how to build a fair and just society within safe planetary boundaries.
Our educational offering includes a variety of practical-based one-day short courses, slightly longer residential camps, vocational NVQ courses, and we have recently validated our unique interdisciplinary undergraduate degree - BA (hons) in Arts, Ecology, and Systems Change, with our partner Cardiff Metropolitan University. BMC’s learning model, applied across all courses, integrates the head, hands and heart, multi-sensory protocols, outdoor learning and multiple hierarchies of knowledge or ways of knowing.
Our vocational NVQ level 2 diplomas equip you with future-proof skills for a rewarding and sustainable career and can provide you with skills that are in high demand.
We are located within the beautiful Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons National Park, we are open to all.
We are a proud member of Open Society University Network #OSUN
We all know the world needs to change. New ways of thinking and working begin with education. Study at Black Mountains College. Join us for short courses, vocational training in future skills and the BMC Degree.
