The Labex ITTEM - Innovations and Territorial Transitions in the Mountains - brings together researchers from nine laboratories in the field of human and social sciences and contributes to the dialogue between disciplines for a global approach: history, geography, sociology, economics, law, management sciences, sports sciences, communication.
Participatory research, bringing together researchers and civil society, is at the heart of the work supported by the Labex ITTEM. Always with the aim of supporting public action in the mountains through co-constructed projects with a view to sustainable development.
Beyond the French mountains, the Labex ITTEM wants to strengthen the international dimension of its actions and aims to become a reference center for mountain research.
The Labex ITTEM is:
• 9 laboratories from the Universities of Grenoble-Alpes and Savoie-Mont-Blanc and the National Institute for Agricultural, Food and Environmental Research (INRAE).
• At the national level, a Laboratory of Excellence created in 2011 and placed under the supervision of the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and the National Agency for Research (ANR).
• A scientific council guaranteeing the quality of the work, and a steering committee including representatives of local authorities and the socio-economic world.
• A new project for the period 2020-2024, renewed governance and an expanded support team.

Le Labex ITTEM - Innovations et Transitions Territoriales en Montagne – fédère des chercheurs issus de neuf laboratoires dans le champ des sciences humaines et sociales et contribue au dialogue entre les disciplines pour une approche globale : histoire, géographie, sociologie, économie, droit, sciences de gestion, sciences du sport, communication.
La recherche participative, associant chercheurs et société civile, est au cœur des travaux soutenus par le Labex ITTEM. Avec toujours, en ligne de mire, la volonté d’accompagner l’action publique en montagne par des projets co-construits dans une perspective de développement soutenable.
Au-delà des montagnes françaises, le Labex ITTEM veut renforcer la dimension internationale de ses actions et ambitionne de devenir un centre de référence de recherche sur la montagne.
Le Labex ITTEM, c’est :
