The Labex - Innovations and territorial transitions in the mountains (ITTEM) - brings together a community of researchers in the human and social sciences working in the mountains and from twelve laboratories at the Grenoble Alpes and Savoie-Mont Blanc Universities, and the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (Inrae).
Contributing to dialogue between disciplines (history, geography, sociology, planning, economics, law, political science, management science, communication, etc.), Labex ITTEM supports projects built with local actors and actresses confronted with the impacts of global changes.

Le Labex - Innovations et transitions territoriales en montagne (ITTEM) - fédère une communauté de chercheurs et chercheuses en sciences humaines et sociales travaillant sur la montagne et issus de douze laboratoires des Universités Grenoble Alpes et Savoie-Mont Blanc, et de l’Institut national de recherche pour l’agriculture, l’alimentation et l’environnement (Inrae).
Contribuant au dialogue entre les disciplines (histoire, géographie, sociologie, aménagement, économie, droit, sciences politiques, sciences de gestion, communication...), le Labex ITTEM accompagne des projets construits avec les acteurs et actrices des territoires confrontés aux impacts des changements globaux.
Il constitue l’un des centres internationaux de ressources sur l’étude des montagnes en sciences humaines et sociales. Ses liens avec de nombreux organismes et chercheurs étrangers lui assurent un rayonnement international, à l’échelle de l’arc alpin et au-delà.
