2025 - here we come! I love to always be up for a good and productive start, first personally with family and friends and in this case back in the office gathering corporate leaders continuing building out our US corporate ecosystem at Cathay Innovation ahead of #JPMHealthcare2025 kicking off Jan, 13th.

As part of our four investment verticals #digitalhealthcare #mobilityandenergy #consumertech and #fintech we focused on a 'healthy' start looking into innovation and transformation for food tech companies. As you can imagine the whole value chain is regulated and quite complex, locally and globally requiring long-term investments for manufacturing/ processing sites based on data and predictions on how the consumer behavior looks like in 5+ years.

Yesterday, Schreiber Foods executive C-level Team organized half a day at our SF offices to exchange insights with their ecosystem and industry partners closing the session with a final panel discussion led by Blair Tritt asking corporate investors about their journey in #CVC #foodtech throughout their years.

BIG thanks to Blair Tritt and Bill Dong plus our very own Jonathan Healy for organizing the day and special thanks to all participants joining in on the fun

2024 has officially come to an end, and it’s definitely been one for the books here at Cathay Innovation!

A few highlights 💫

🔥 Our teams have kept busy all year-round, continuing to build new partnerships and supporting founders building for the future in fintech, consumer, digital health, mobility / energy, and web3. We believe our vision of collaborative transformation between emerging startups & leading corporations will be essential in the AI era, one that will certainly continue to profoundly transform the way we approach business (and life!) for decades to come.

🚀 Crypto’s legitimacy has also skyrocketed throughout the last few months, accelerating the need for a well-defined regulatory framework—something that we’re eager to witness, having anticipated this shift. We’re proud to still be the only French fund to be authorized to invest in crypto tokens!

✅ Along with many strong portfolio developments & new additions—AQEMIA, Flowdesk, Nabla, Range, David Energy to name a few—we also extended our platform with the recent launch of C.Lab, our advisory arm straight out of San Francisco dedicated to helping corporations transform & compete in the AI age.

💪 Last but not least, we were thrilled to once again be recognized on the VCJ50, the worlds largest VC fundraisers, representing 1 of 5 European firms featured on the list

Now more than ever, we are grateful to have such a dedicated and talented team and ecosystem that made all these achievements come to life! Cheers to 2025 🎉 🎉

🩺The future of medical research is here, and AQEMIA is the driving force behind it.

This week, we announced AQEMIA’s new $38 million funding round, which brought its cumulative funding to $100 million, an awe-inspiring milestone.

💡Full of promise for upcoming drug discovery, AQEMIA has already made tremendous progress in pharmaceutical research by using quantum physics to train generative AI, a game changer for tomorrow’s clinical treatments all over the world.

🤖 “Ever since its series A funding round three years ago, we have been impressed by the team’s dedication and vision. They’ve created a technology that is powerful enough to process an incredible amount of data at a much lower cost than we’re used to, something that had yet to be seen in the pharmaceutical milieu. We have no doubt about their potential to reinvent the way we approach medical care at a global level, something that they’ve already initiated with their recent expansion to the UK”
