3BCAR Carnot institute - A public research network to support your innovation in bioeconomy
3BCAR, labeled Carnot institute by French government and lead by INRAE and its partners, is a French structured network offering competencies in the field of valorization of biomass, bioenergy, biobased molecules and biobased materials.
It aims at supporting innovation and promoting the development public-private partnership through support to companies R&D departments.
3BCAR mobilizes two key levers for Bioeconomy emergence: Biotechnologies (plants, industrial and environmental) and Green chemistry; gathering multidisciplinary approaches from biomass, biorefinery until functional properties. Circular economy is considered by waste and byproducts valorization, cascading uses and ecodesign.

3BCAR, labellisé Institut Carnot par le ministère de lʼEnseignement supérieur, de la Recherche et de lʼInnovation, est un réseau de structures de recherche, porté par INRAE, offrant des compétences R&D aux entreprises dans les domaines de valorisation de la biomasse (végétale, coproduits et déchets) pour les secteur bioénergies, molécules et matériaux biosourcés.
L'objectif est de supporter l'innovation et promouvoir le développement des partenariats public-privés.
3BCAR mobilise deux leviers principaux pour l'émergence de la Bioéconomie : les Biotechnologies (végétales, industrielles et environnementales) et la Chimie Verte. Rassemblant des compétences multidisciplinaires de la biomasse à la bioraffinerie et les propriétés fonctionnelles. L'économie circulaire est considérée par la valorisation des déchets et coproduits, les usages en cascade et l'écoconception.
