Née en 1977, l’ADES (Association pour le Développement Economique et Social) était une association regroupant les élus de la montagne du Sidobre et des Monts de Lacaune et les représentants des associations et des entreprises. Elle œuvrait pour le développement économique et social de son grand territoire.
Au fil des évolutions législatives et surtout de la volonté des élus, elle s’est transformée pour devenir aujourd’hui un Pôle d’Equilibre Territorial et Rural (PETR), dit Pôle Territorial, nommé Hautes Terres d’Oc.
Le Pôle Territorial regroupe 3 Communautés de Communes dont 45 Communes et 26 000 habitants.
