Porté conjointement par la Ministre de la Culture et la Ministre chargée du Logement, le programme Engagés pour la qualité du logement de demain vise à développer un ensemble d'actions qui contribuent à expérimenter par le projet des solutions à coûts maîtrisés, permettant de concilier dans le logement une plus grande qualité de vie avec les impératifs de sobriété écologique et de qualité architecturale, urbaine et patrimoniale.
Ce programme découle des propositions du rapport de Pierre-René Lemas et du référentiel sur la qualité des logements porté par Laurent Girometti et François Leclercq. Il a pour ambition de « définir de nouveaux modes de faire » dans la production des logements.
