Founded in 1992, Roma Tre is one of the youngest universities in the Italian university system and today has approximately 33,000 students from all over Italy. Its 79 three-year, master's and single-cycle degree courses, 24 research doctorates and 61 post-graduate courses make up the educational offer of its 12 Departments.
The solidity of the educational offer accompanied by the attention to new methodologies and new languages of communication; the international openness, through the Erasmus program and numerous double or joint degrees; the important presence in international scientific research and the recognition of "Excellence" to 4 departments (Law, Engineering, Mathematics and Physics, Science); the attention to the issues of environmental sustainability and eco-sustainable design, are just some of the strengths on which the prestige of a large student and scientific community is based.
Among its founding values, Roma Tre takes on the promotion and organization of research at an international level, higher education and the development and dissemination of knowledge, environmental protection, international solidarity, the principles of gender equality, the evaluation and incentive of merit.
Teaching and research, in all disciplinary areas, constantly interact and address a global world, thus promoting the updating and enrichment of knowledge; they combine their action with the Third Mission, understood both as technology transfer and as projection of training activities on the territory. The international dimension is an aspect considered strategic for the University which adheres, among other things, to the inspiring principles of the Magna Charta Universitatum and declares its membership in the European Research and Higher Education Area by embracing its principles and tools.
