    [Automatic translation follows] The German Sustainability Code (DNK) is more than a reporting standard that makes sustainability performance transparent. The DNK structures and promotes the gradual shift towards greater sustainability in companies and organizations. It helps user companies to analyze their own business activities, develop a sustainability strategy and enables them to get started with sustainability reporting. At the same time, it offers companies valuable guidance on increasing reporting obligations and covers these requirements with new reporting options.
    The DNK as a process standard: Regular reporting makes the development of the company and its change processes visible to the general public. In order to report according to the DNK, user companies create a declaration in the database on twenty DNK criteria and the supplementary non-financial performance indicators. Optionally, they report on the CSR Directive Implementation Act, the EU taxonomy and/or the National Action Plan for Business and Human Rights (NAP).

Der DNK strukturiert und fördert die schrittweise Umsteuerung hin zu mehr Nachhaltigkeit in Unternehmen und Organisationen. Dabei hilft er den Anwenderunternehmen bei der Analyse der eigenen Geschäftstätigkeit, dem Aufbau einer Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie und ermöglicht einen Einstieg in die Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung. Gleichzeitig bietet er Unternehmen wertvolle Orientierung zu steigenden Berichtspflichten und deckt diese Anforderungen durch neue Berichtsoptionen ab.
    Der DNK als Prozessstandard: Die regelmäßige Berichterstattung macht die Entwicklung des Unternehmens mit seinen Veränderungsprozessen für die breite Öffentlichkeit einsehbar. Um nach dem DNK zu berichten, erstellen Anwenderunternehmen in der Datenbank eine Erklärung zu zwanzig DNK-Kriterien sowie den ergänzenden nicht-finanziellen Leistungsindikatoren. Optional berichten sie zum CSR-Richtlinien-Umsetzungsgesetz, zur EU-Taxonomie und/oder zum Nationalen Aktionsplan Wirtschaft und Menschenrechte (NAP).
