Sous la tutelle de la DGOS les GIRCI sont des dispositifs territoriaux de soutien à la recherche clinique et à l’innovation en santé.
Dans ce cadre les GIRCI ont pour missions d’accroitre l’expertise et de faciliter la mise en œuvre des projets de recherche au travers de :
- La mutualisation des ressources, des savoirs, des moyens, des services
- La mise en réseaux de professionnels (chercheurs et acteurs de la recherche)
- L’organisation de formations
- Le soutien financier à de projets de recherche par le lancement d’appels à projets régionaux
