Work4Germany brings methodologically strong transformation experts from the private sector together with pioneers from federal ministries. As a tandem, they work on digital-related projects for six months. They identify potential for change and create the conditions to realize it. They use agile methods and user-centered working methods and adapt them to the administrative context. Methods are understood as tools - even beyond the fellowship. This opens up new scope for action and design and creates very concrete benefits for managers, teams and projects. With Work4Germany, we are driving the modernization of administration from within.
For this purpose, every year we look for transformation experts and pioneers from federal ministries with digital-related projects who are keen to rethink processes and want to work with agile methods.
In September 2020, 4Germany UG was taken over by the federal government and in the process became the federal government's DigitalService GmbH. The goal: a federal software development unit that builds better, user-centered solutions for everyone in Germany. Work4Germany bringt methodenstarke Transformations-Expert:innen aus der freien Wirtschaft mit Vorreiter:innen der Bundesministerien zusammen. Als Tandem arbeiten sie über sechs Monate an Projekten mit Digitalbezug. Sie identifizieren Potenziale für Veränderung und schaffen Voraussetzungen, um diese zu realisieren. Sie nutzen agile Methoden und nutzerzentrierte Arbeitsweisen und passen sie an den Verwaltungskontext an. Methoden werden dabei als Werkzeuge verstanden – auch über das Fellowship hinaus. Das eröffnet neue Handlungs- und Gestaltungsspielräume und schafft ganz konkreten Nutzen für Führungskräfte, Teams und Projekte. So treiben wir mit Work4Germany die Modernisierung der Verwaltung von innen heraus voran.
Hierfür suchen wir jedes Jahr Transformations-Expert:innen sowie Vorreiter:innen aus Bundesministerien mit Projekten mit Digitalbezug, die Lust haben, Prozesse neu zu denken und mit agilen Methoden arbeiten wollen.
Im September 2020 wurde die 4Germany UG vom Bund übernommen und in diesem Zuge zur DigitalService GmbH des Bundes. Das Ziel: eine bundeseigene Software Entwicklungs Einheit, die nutzerzentriert bessere Lösungen für alle Menschen in Deutschland baut. Die beiden Fellowship Programme Tech4Germany und Work4Germany, die seit 2018 in mehrmonatigen Programmen Digitaltalente in die Bundesministerien bringen und die Vorteile agilen Arbeitens erlebbar machen, sind weiterhin Bestandteil der DigitalService GmbH des Bundes.
